Introduction

It was October of 1979 when Ted Stevenett, his wife Audrey and their nine children moved to Provo, Utah after selling everything they owned.  They were starting completely over in life even though having just a few house payments left of their home in Alberta, Canada which sat on a picturesque 500 acres of farmland.  Ted was 50 years of age when he made that move.  So the question is, "Why?" Inspiration no doubt. This amazing couple gave everything up for their children and most will never know or contemplate why or how they did it. But, the reality is they gave all of their children their freedom, expression, creativity and belief by leaving that small town so long ago.  This website is dedicated to them.

Audrey & Ted Stevenett ~ This picture was taken on Sunday, July 26, 1998.  Just a few weeks before this picture was taken, dad had been diagnosed with lung cancer.  The day I took this picture, our mother called the entire family and invited everyone to the house for a family dinner.  She felt that dad wouldn't be with us much longer and felt strongly that we should be together.  Of course, I brought my "then" film camera.  After rummaging through my camera bag, the only rolls of film I found were black and white.  3 days later, our father passed away.  I will be forever grateful for the power of pictures.

About Shaun

Shaun hasn't been able to put a camera down since he first held his father's old Pentax at age 15. Despite winning numerous photography awards in High School with that same camera, he never considered of making a career out of it. Simplistic thinking.

As Shaun continued to take photography classes in High School and well into College, he would hang out in his parents basement for hours developing 35 mm rolls of black and white film with the help of an old Beseler Enlarger from the 1960's. Even though a lot has happened since then, he still carries a camera with him wherever he goes and anytime he pushes that button, he loves the rush it gives him to know that he's capturing a moment in time that will never happen again, ever.

Raised in a diverse family of nine kids with overflowing talent, Shaun found his niche in photography early in life while his other siblings found theirs in painting, sculpting, singing, writing music, piano, drums, guitar ... the list goes on!

Shaun has a degree is in Business Management with an emphasis in Marketing from the University of Phoenix and currently lives in South Jordan, Utah with his wife, Heather, and our their four amazing children who keep our lives interesting and full.

Shaun hopes that his photography isn't what you've seen before. He likes to add his own "style" to each picture in hopes of giving you, the viewer, a sense of being "there" in the moment when the picture was originally taken.
